Daylight Savings Time transitions in OmniFocus

OmniFocus stores times as an absolute value in universal time. Your due and defer dates are generally not affected by Daylight Savings Time, as this is a scheduled time change accounted for by the OS.

OmniFocus only checks the system clock when the app is initially launched, so if the Mac app has been left open during the DST change, you may need to quit and relaunch to resolve any oddities that arise with date input.

There are some rare cases where the DST switch might impact some existing dates, usually if an action with both a defer and due date repeats during the time change. If you’ve noticed any changes to dates after Daylight Savings Time, please email us using the contact info below! Any specific information you can provide about the way you’ve set up the afflicted tasks will help us improve our date handling in the future.

If due times across your entire database changed after moving to a new time zone, use this AppleScript to batch-update action times.
