Buying OmniPlan 3 for Mac

OmniPlan for Mac is sold both through the Omni Store and Apple’s Mac App Store; the two stores deliver the same app features and functionality, but offer some unique benefits.

Discounts are available for customers who purchased an earlier version of OmniPlan for Mac. In order to receive an upgrade discount, you’ll need to purchase OmniPlan 3 in the same store that you purchased the earlier version from. We are unable to migrate customers from the App Store to our Omni Store — or from the Omni Store to the App Store. Here’s how to check where your earlier purchase was made.

Omni Store

The Omni Store serves our direct customers, as well as anyone who purchased an earlier version of OmniPlan anywhere other than the Mac App Store.

If you’ve decided to purchase OmniPlan directly from us, download the direct version of OmniPlan. There’s only one download for both Standard and Pro users.

When you launch OmniPlan for the first time, you can get started right away with a free trial, or immediately purchase or enter a license. Click the Buy Licenses button to open the OmniPlan 3 page in our web store.

Purchasing OmniPlan for new users

  1. Open the OmniPlan page in our web store.

  2. In the Buy a new license section, click the Buy button next to the desired license type to add the license to your cart.

  3. When you’re ready to check out, click the desired payment method, and follow the on-screen steps to complete your transaction.

  4. After completing your transaction, you’ll receive a receipt via email, as well as an invoice containing your license information. Add your license to OmniPlan 3 to finish unlocking the app, repeating that process on any other Macs you’d like to set up OmniPlan 3 on. Thanks for purchasing OmniPlan 3!

Upgrade pricing for existing customers

  1. Open the OmniPlan 3 page in our web store.

  2. In the Upgrade an existing license section, enter in your earlier OmniPlan for Mac license key. If you don’t have your license key, click the Lost your license key? link to have it sent to you, or email us at sales@omnigroup.com for further assistance.

  3. After entering your license, click View Upgrades to view your upgrade discounts.

  4. Click the Buy button next to the desired license type to add the license to your cart.

  5. When you’re ready to check out, click the desired payment method, and follow the on-screen steps to complete your transaction.

  6. After completing your transaction, you’ll receive a receipt via email, as well as an invoice containing your license information. Mac App Store

OmniPlan 3 is available as a free download in the Mac App Store. It has a 14-day trial that is free via In-App purchase and additional In-App Purchases that fully unlock the Standard or Pro feature sets.

If you’ve decided to purchase OmniPlan via the Mac App Store, download the App Store version of OmniPlan 3. If you’re upgrading from an earlier version, you’ll also need to have the earlier version installed in order to validate your upgrade discount.

Unlocking OmniPlan for new users

  1. Download OmniPlan 3 from the Mac App Store. There’s only one download for both Standard and Pro users.

  2. Open OmniPlan 3. On first launch, you’re asked whether you’d like to start a trial or purchase a license.

  3. Click one of the Buy buttons to purchase Pro or Standard using your Apple ID.

  4. On any other Macs where you wish to set up OmniPlan 3, repeat the download process with the same Apple ID. OmniPlan should automatically restore your purchase when you download it, but if some reason it doesn’t, click the Restore button on any of the In-App purchase screens.

Upgrade pricing for existing customers

  1. Make sure that the previous version of OmniPlan that you purchased from the Mac App Store is installed.

  2. Download OmniPlan 3 from the Mac App Store. There’s only one download for both Standard and Pro users.

  3. Open OmniPlan 3. On first launch, you’re asked whether you’d like to start a trial or purchase a license.

  4. Since you’re upgrading to OmniPlan 3 for Mac from an earlier version, click the Check for Discount text at the bottom of the window. You’ll be asked to locate the earlier version of OmniPlan 3 that’s installed on your Mac. Click Verify Previous App to find it. Select the earlier version of OmniPlan from where you installed it, then click Open.

  5. After your earlier version of OmniPlan has been verified, your discounted pricing options will be listed. Click one of the Upgrade buttons to purchase Pro or Standard using your Apple ID.

  6. On any other Macs where you wish to set up OmniPlan 3, repeat the download process with the same Apple ID. OmniPlan should automatically restore your purchase when you download it, but if some reason it doesn’t, click the Restore button on any of the In-App purchase screen.

Activating (or reactivating) features on another device

After the initial In-App Purchase is completed, that purchase is permanently associated with your Apple ID. As long as you are using the same Apple ID and are in the same country as the original purchase, Apple allows you to re-download any of your previous purchases for free.

If you’d like to activate Standard or Pro on any of your other Macs, or if you’ve uninstalled and reinstalled OmniPlan from the Mac App Store, head back to the In-App Purchases window and tap the Restore button.

Troubleshooting In-App Purchases

If you are unable to reinstall the previous version or complete your In-App Purchase, try logging out and logging back in to the App Store.

  1. In the App Store app, choose Sign Out from the Store menu.

  2. Reboot your Mac.

  3. Sign back in with your Apple ID. If reinstalling a prior version, be sure to use the ID tied to your purchase of the previous version.

  4. Try reinstalling or completing the In-App Purchase again.
