When an OmniPlan project is published to a server repository for the first time, a document identifier is assigned to the project. All copies of the synced project share the same document identifier – when changes to a project are published to the server repository, the document identifier tells OmniPlan which project on the server to sync the changes to.
If a synced OmniPlan project file is duplicated on your Mac (via copy and paste in Finder, for example), OmniPlan needs to be told if the new copy of the project file should sync with the original project on the server, or if it should be assigned a new document identifier and synced as a new project:
If this copy of the OmniPlan project should continue to sync with the original project on the server, tap “This Document Was Moved” to let OmniPlan know it should remember this document ID:
If this copy of the project is a new project, and changes should not be synced back to the original project on the serve, tap “This is a New Document.” After doing so, publishing and subscription actions can be configured for your new project (you can re-enable the original actions, or set up new ones). When you publish project to your server repository, it will sync as a new project, with a new document identifier, and your original project on the server will not be affected.
