Do I have to pay for future updates?

All of our Omni applications for Mac and iOS are available as a standalone purchase for a one-time fee, or as a monthly/annual cross-platform subscription.

Standalone Purchases

In alignment with App Store and longstanding Omni Group policy, the standalone traditional license option lets you purchase the current version of a Mac or iOS application (this includes any same-version updates) upfront for a one-time fee. This purchase does not include new major version releases of the application; if there is a major overhaul of the application with several new features, we may release it as a new major version which requires a paid upgrade. Bug fixes, minor features, and miscellaneous polishing come at no cost.

On average, we offer free updates (new releases where we fix bugs, and sometimes add new features) every few weeks or months. Upgrades on the other hand (where we add major new features requiring a great deal of development) generally happen on the scale of a few years.

When we release major new versions, discounted upgrade options are available for customers who own previous app versions.

Cross-Platform Subscriptions

The cross-platform subscription option is a great way to always have access to the most recent version of one of our applications on all of your devices—Mac, iPhone, and iPad—for one price. Subscribing gives you the option to pay monthly or yearly for access to OmniFocus, OmniGraffle, OmniOutliner, or OmniPlan, and also includes access to any new versions we ship in the future.

(A Web add-on subscription for adding access to OmniFocus for the Web for customers that already own one or both of the standalone OmniFocus apps is also available.)
