Batch-changing Due times in OmniFocus with AppleScript

OmniFocus 2 Pro offers extensive AppleScript support for expanding the app with additional workflows. One potential way to use AppleScript in OmniFocus is to batch-change due times.

Attached below is a modified version of Dan Byler’s Defer script that we’ve updated for OmniFocus 2, which finds any uncompleted items in your database with a defer and/or due date and adjusts them by a user-specified number of hours (positive and negative values are both accepted). This can be helpful if you travel or change time zones, as OmniFocus converts all times into GMT behind the scenes.

OmniFocus 2 Timezone Offset Applescript

Use Help > Open Scripts Folder to open the AppleScript directory, and place the script there. Additional details and installation instructions can be read by viewing the script in the Script Editor.

Learn more about scripting OmniFocus from the Scripting section of the OmniFocus 2 for Mac User Manual.

AppleScript is a Pro-only feature of OmniFocus 2 for Mac. If you are using OmniFocus 2 Standard, you’ll need to upgrade to a Pro license or the Pro In-App Purchase in order to take advantage of this and other automation scripts.
