OmniFocus for the Web is designed to connect directly to Omni Sync Server, and associates your subscription to a specific sync server account. Unfortunately, that means that customers who sync OmniFocus using their own server can’t currently view or edit their data in OmniFocus for the Web.
If you try to purchase a subscription from a copy of OmniFocus that not configured to sync using Omni Sync Server, an alert appears that warns you of this incompatibility. A similar alert appears if a copy of OmniFocus is licensed via subscription and you start to configure WebDAV sync.
