Unable to log in: The Omni Account “username” doesn’t have an OmniFocus database

OmniFocus for the Web is only an add-on service and does not work as a standalone app. Before you can log in on the web, you will need a copy of OmniFocus for Mac, iPhone, or iPad set up to sync with this account.

If you are brand new to OmniFocus, you’ll want to start with downloading native copy of OmniFocus on an Apple device, then set up syncing during the first run experience.

Download OmniFocus for iPhone or iPad — App Store

Download OmniFocus for Mac — Direct | Mac App Store

Sync an Existing Database

If you’ve been using a native copy of OmniFocus and would like to access it on the web, it’s important that you set up sync in OmniFocus on the device you’ve been using first. Here is how to do that:

OmniFocus 4

  • Go to Settings > Sync > Sync
  • Enter in your Omni Account name and password
  • Tap Sync

OmniFocus 3 for Mac

  • Choose OmniFocus > Settings in the menu bar
  • Go to the Sync tab, and select Omni Sync Server
  • Enter in your Omni Account name, and click Sync Now
  • Enter in your Omni Account password when prompted

OmniFocus 3 for iOS

  • Go to Settings > Sync
  • Tap Sign in or Create New Omni Account
  • Enter in your Omni Account name, and tap Sync Now
  • Enter in your Omni Account password when prompted
