How to update OmniFocus with new credentials for a WebDAV server

If you are using your own WebDAV server to sync OmniFocus and have changed the credentials to access the server, but OmniFocus is not providing you a chance to enter the new credentials, here is how to resolve that:

OmniFocus 4 for Mac, iPhone, and iPad

  1. Go to Settings > Sync.
  2. Choose Turn Sync Off.
  3. Re-enter all of your server credentials (address, username, password) to reconnect.

OmniFocus 3 for Mac

  1. Quit OmniFocus if open.
  2. Open Keychain Access.app.
  3. Look for an entry formatted like this:
    https://server_address|username|server_name
  4. Delete this entry.
  5. Re-open OmniFocus, andn it should now prompt for credentials.

OmniFocus 3 for iPhone and iPad

  1. Tap this link: Reset OmniFocus iOS Keychain.
  2. You’ll be asked to open OmniFocus.
  3. Tap Open.
  4. OmniFocus will then present a confirmation prompt.
  5. Tap Invoke & Quit.
  6. Re-open OmniFocus, and it should now prompt for credentials.
