Alongside the release of iOS 14, compatibility updates for each of our currently shipping iOS apps have been made available in the iOS App Store.
Previous Versions
It may be possible to continue to use older versions of our apps on iOS 14 devices, but please understand that they have not been updated for compatibility. Here are some of the new compatibility issues that we’ve been made aware of (note, we have not extensively tested older versions of Omni apps on iOS 14):
- Network Privacy Permissions — Older app versions will prompt for local network access without providing additional context. Enabling this access allows the Omni app to notify other copies of the app syncing on the local network when new changes are available to download.
- OmniFocus 2 — We’ve received reports that OmniFocus 2 for iOS crashes on launch on iPhones running iOS 14.2. Deleting and reinstalling OmniFocus 2 for iOS appears to resolve the issue. Before deleting OmniFocus from a device, please confirm that your local OmniFocus database has been backed up.
If you’ve skipped over a previous iOS update (by replacing an iOS 10 device with a new one, for example) we recommend reviewing these articles as well:
