The Grid & Guides inspector lets turn Snap to Grid on or off. With Snap to Grid turned on, a graph paper-like grid appears over the canvas. When turned on, any objects you draw on the canvas snap to the grid when placed or moved around.
Beneath the Snap to Grid switch, are the Major Grid and Minor Grid fields:
- The Major Grid field determines how large each square of the main grid should be.
- The Minor Grid field determines how many minor grid steps should fit across one major grid square.
For example, if the Major Grid is set to 100 px, and the Minor Grid has 10 steps, the Minor Grid steps are 10 × 10 pixels.
Major Grid lines are slightly thicker and darker than the Minor Grid lines.
