All of our Omni apps for iPhone and iPad are available as a traditional purchase for a one-time fee, or as a monthly/annual subscription.
The traditional in-app purchase option lets you pay a one-time, upfront fee that unlocks that version of the app for both iPhone and iPad (this includes any same-version updates). This purchase does not include new major version releases, though we provide a discount for folks that would like to upgrade.
Universal Purchases
OmniFocus 4 and OmniPlan 4 are universal purchases, meaning you pay a single upfront, one-time fee and get access to the app on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
The subscription option is a great way to get one of our apps on all of your devices—Mac, iPhone, and iPad—for one price. Subscribing gives you the option to pay monthly or yearly for access to OmniFocus, OmniGraffle, OmniOutliner, or OmniPlan and also includes any new versions we ship in the future.
Omni Account
An Omni Account is required in order to start a trial, make a traditional purchase, or purchase a subscription. This means no matter where you download and purchase our app, your Omni Account will keep track of your trials and purchases. Read more on Omni Accounts here).
This process applies to all supported apps!
The buying options and purchasing process detailed in this article is the same for all supported apps (see note above). The screenshots below use one specific app for illustration purposes, but the same steps are applicable to users purchasing all of our apps.

Traditional Purchase
App Store Traditional Purchase
Our iPhone and iPad apps are available as a free download in the App Store. A free 14-day trial starts when signing in with an Omni Account, and in-app purchases fully unlock the Standard or Pro feature sets. This purchase and download is tied to your Apple ID in the App Store.
If you’ve decided to purchase an Omni iPhone and iPad app, start by downloading the app through the App Store. If you’re upgrading from an earlier version, you’ll also need to have the earlier version installed in order to validate your upgrade discount.
Buying as a new customer

On your iPhone or iPad, open the App Store, then locate and download the Omni app you wish to purchase. There’s only one download for both Standard and Pro editions.

Open the app. On first launch, follow the prompts on screen to sign in or create an Omni Account, which will begin a 14-day free trial.

When you’re ready to purchase the app, go to In-App Purchases. Tap on the top purchase card to make a traditonal one-time purchase.

Tap one of the Buy buttons to choose between Pro or Standard, then confirm the purchase using your Apple ID.

Before your in-app purchase can be billed, you’ll be asked to log in to your Omni Account, or create a new Omni Account if you don’t have one.

On any other iPhone or iPad where you wish to install this app, repeat the download process with the same Apple ID. The app should automatically recognize your existing purchase when you sign in with your Omni Account, but if some reason it doesn’t, tap the Restore button on any of the In-App purchase screens. Upgrading as an existing customer

Make sure a previous version of the app you purchased from the App Store is installed.

Open the App Store, then locate and download the new version of the app. There’s only one download for both Standard and Pro editions.

Open the app. On first launch, follow the prompts on screen to sign in or create an Omni Account, which will begin a 14-day free trial.

When you’re ready to purchase the app, go to In-App Purchases, and tap the top purchase card to view your discounted upgrade options.

- In OmniFocus, In-App Purchases is found in Settings > License.
- If you aren’t seeing discount pricing, tap Check for Discount below the purchase cards.
Quick tip
Once you’ve synced or imported your existing data into to the new app, you can uninstall the older version, though it is also fine to leave it installed if you prefer. Just be aware that data and documents may not be backwards-compatible, and it might may make it harder to work with services or extensions that send data to the app.

Registering an in-app purchase
To register a previous iPhone and iPad in-app purchase with your Omni Account:

Launch the Omni app on your iPhone or iPad and go to Omni Account. If you are not already signed in with your Omni Account, you’ll be asked to sign in to your Omni Account, or create a new Omni Account if you don’t have one.

- In OmniFocus, Omni Account is found in Settings > License.

Previously purchased in-app purchases will be listed below your Omni Account details. Tap Register Purchase to register your purchase to your Omni Account.
If your previous in-app purchases are not displayed, navigate to In-App Purchases, tap Restore Purchases, then Restore from App Store.

Activating (or reactivating) features on another device
After the initial traditional in-app purchase is completed, that traditional purchase is permanently associated with your Apple ID, as well being registered with your Omni Account. As long as you are using the same Apple ID and are in the same country as the original purchase, Apple allows you to re-download any of your previous purchases for free.
If you’d like to activate the traditional Standard or Pro in-app purchase on any of your other devices, or if you’ve uninstalled and reinstalled our software from the App Store, head back to In-App Purchases and tap the Restore button.
Omni Store Traditional Purchase
Important Note
These instructions only apply to our apps that provide a universal cross-platform purchase—currently OmniFocus 4 and OmniPlan 4—where a single purchase provides access to the app on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Buying as a new customer

Go to our web store, and select the desired app.

You’ll see options for a traditional Standard or Pro license—click Add to Cart under the option you want.
If purchasing for multiple members of a team, update the Quantity to the number of seats you need for your team (the number of users you’re looking to license).

When you’re ready to check out, click the Check Out button in the shopping cart. If you’re not already logged into your Omni Account you’ll be prompted to sign in or create an Omni Account.

Follow the on-screen steps to add your billing information.

Review the purchase details, including any applicable discounts, and enter your credit card details. We currently only accept credit card payments.

After completing your purchase, you’ll receive an email with your invoice receipt and an email with instructions on how to sign in and [unlock][unlock] the software — this will include instructions on how to invite other users to a [Team Subscription or License][team-subscription]. Upgrading as an existing customer
Note
You’ll need to register your purchase of the previous version with an Omni Account in order to proceed with upgrading.

Go to our web store, and select the desired app.

Select Upgrade above the traditional licensing options, and after you sign into your Omni Account you’ll be shown if there are any upgrades avaialble.

Click Add to Cart under the Standard or Pro license option you want.
If purchasing for multiple members of a team, update the Quantity to the number of seats you’d like to upgrade (the number of users you’re looking to license). You can upgrade any number of seats the previous license was purchased for. Any remaining seats that are not upgraded now can be upgraded at a later time.

Subscription Purchase
Subscribing to OmniFocus, OmniGraffle, OmniOutliner, or OmniPlan gives you the option to pay monthly or yearly for Pro-feature access to that app on all of your devices––Mac, iPhone, and iPad. You can purchase a cross-platform subscription directly from the Omni Store, or through Apple’s App Store. No matter where you subscribe, your Omni Account tracks your subscription so you don’t accidentally subscribe twice. Discount pricing is not offered on subscriptions and subscriptions are non-refundable.
Omni Store Subscription Purchase
Purchasing direct from the Omni Store means your billing and subscription management is registered with Omni.

App Store Subscription Purchase
If you’ve decided to subscribe to one of our apps via the App Store, your subscription is managed and billed through Apple using your Apple ID.

When you’re ready to subscribe, go to In-App Purchases, and tap the bottom purhcase card to view the subscription options.

Tap on the Monthly or Yearly subscription billing option, then confirm the purchase with your Apple ID.
If you aren’t currently signed into an Omni Account, you will to asked to sign in or create a new account before you can proceed with confirming your purchase.

On any other device where you wish to set up the same app, repeat the download process with the same Apple ID. After the initial purchase, subsequent installations should automatically restore your purchase when you sign in with your Omni Account—but if some reason it doesn’t, tap Restore in any of the In-App Purchase screens. Accessing your subscription
- Omni Apps for iPhone and iPad: Download the latest version from the App Store on your iPhone or iPad. If running the app for the first time, simply sign in with your Omni Account when prompted. If you’ve already gone through the first run experience, choose Omni Account from the Omni App’s Settings and enter your Omni Account credentials.
Managing or cancelling your Subscription
For subscriptions purchased directly from Omni
If you subscribed in the Omni Store, you can manage or cancel your subscription at the Omni Accounts page at our website.
For App Store subscriptions
Manage your Omni App subscription through the Settings app on iPhone and iPad or the App Store on Mac.
The subscription management page shows the date on which your subscription will renew. You must cancel your subscription at least 24 hours before this date to avoid being charged.
